artist statement

”creativity is a must for me, for my wellbeing”

What´s the meaning of life?
Some dramatic incidents changed my perspective of my life.
Creativity has always been an important part of my life. During long periods though I have not listen to my inner voice trying desperate to tell me creativity is more than important, it´s a must for me, for my wellbeing. Today, when I have started to listen to that inner voice, I use the creative process to explore my inner as well as my outer space and it helps me to find my place in this world.

Following my passion is helping me believe in myself, giving me a chance to stand still and listen to what my body tries to tell me, it helps me practice self compassion and to appreciate and cherish myself bit by bit for the very first time in my life. And it helps me realize I´m actually not that bad,  I´m actually pretty nice to hang out with. My process helps me understand I am worth taking care of since there is no more me than me.

”there is no more me than me”

I have spent quite some time during my life caring for others, worrying about other people´s wellbeing. Putting other people´s needs before my owns. Now I have realized I need to be able to breathe before helping others to breathe. By making art I have found my context. A place where I feel safe, a place where I can grow and continue develop my curiosity for life and what sorrounds me.
I love to observe all the beauty there is. Just stop for a moment, using all my senses to experience the small beautiful details.  Before I never stopped, I ran so fast for so many years and finally I couldn´t run anymore, my whole system collapsed.

”i try to remind myself of the perspective of my mini-me”

These days I try to connect myself to the little girl I ones was, the four year old Cecilia who went on a spring hike with her father walking through the deep forest coming out to this beautiful place, climbed a mountain and had Swedish “fika” with lemonade and crackers at the top. Listening to the birds singing, picking some wood anemones for my mum, hanging out with my dad and just enjoyed that very moment. I remember it was a big adventure for me. Some time ago I went back to that place, The walk through the forest took me less than five minutes and the mountain was just a small hill which took me three steps to climb. When I make my art I try to remind myself of the perspective of my mini-me, curious about everything, never in a hurry, enjoying the moment here and now and making room for the small things in life.

”The person I become by following my passion is with no doubts the best version of me I have meet so far.”

My passion is to create art and this is where I find meaning to my life. The person I become by following my passion is with no doubts the best version of me I have meet so far. So if not me, who will then bring purpose to my life and if not now, when will it happen?

”though my art i want to invite you to see what i see”

Through my art I want to invite you to see what I see. Hoping I can inspire you to give yourself a moment of stillness for observation and  reflection. And maybe a moment to think about what brings meaning to your life.

I´d love to welcome you here into my world of art filled with no perfection, just life as it is inperfect and lovely, stillness, compassion, details, joy, beauty and life as it is from my point of view, where I capture the moments of details by painting with my camera.

my inspiration

Nature   Details   everyday life

Nature is a great inspiration to me. It´s an endless source of beautiful details and colours and shapes. It always serves me peace and joy.

The tiny details, the smallest parts of the world, the things we miss when running through life too fast.

My everyday life is one of my biggest inspirations. We don´t need to travel the world to find interesting and beautiful moments. They are all around, just stop and you will see.
